Letter from the Editor
Thank you for reading issue 5 of Vulture Bones! With the publication of this issue, Vulture Bones hits the one year mark. I find this amazing and incredible; I have had the opportunity to work with forty-sex transgender/non-binary artists, poets, and writers. Eight of those folks were people who had never before been published.
I’ve read the work of far more than that--the submissions for this magazine are plentiful and wonderful. With each round, with each new fellow trans/enby creator brave enough to submit, my world burns a little bit brighter. Working on Vulture Bones has given me hope over this last emphatically hopeless year.
Thank you to everyone who has submitted work to Vulture Bones. In writing, we expose raw nerves and old wounds--I am immensely proud of every trans/enby person who made something out of nothing and sent it out into the world. Thank you for telling our stories. Thank you for telling your story.
Thank you to everyone who has subscribed to this magazine, bought an issue, or pre-ordered an issue. Every little bit counts. I have a set budget for each issue, but the income received through these avenues allows me to include additional pieces for the next issue. And who doesn’t want more poems and stories? Thanks, also, to everyone who has devoured our stories free-to-read on the web. Thank you for reading, and for listening, and for spreading the word.
